Finding Inspiration in Jazz Fusion
Sketti is a Baltimore–Annapolis–Washington, D.C.–based jazz fusion band formed in 2026 by drummer Jaden Rain, keyboardist Michael Morrison, guitarist Tegan Shellem, and bassist Harrison Sturges. Blending technical precision with improvisational freedom, the group is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of modern jazz fusion.
Drawing inspiration from pioneers such as Herbie Hancock, Dave Weckl, and Casiopea, Sketti brings fresh interpretations of classic fusion repertoire to the stage while embracing the spirit of exploration that defines the genre. The band also channels the energy and innovation of contemporary acts like Snarky Puppy and Parlor Greens, creating a sound that feels both familiar and forward-looking.
With a live set that balances adventurous improvisation and tightly crafted original compositions, Sketti is working to establish a distinctive voice within today's evolving fusion landscape.
Sketti is currently in the studio recording its debut EP, with a tentative release date of September 1, 2026. Additional details will be announced soon.
