Finding Inspiration in Jazz Fusion
Sketti is a Baltimore–Annapolis–DC–based fusion band formed in 2026 by drummer Jaden Rain, keyboardist Michael Morrison, guitarist Tegan Shellem, and bassist Harrison Sturges. Blending technical precision with improvisational freedom, the group is focused on pushing the boundaries of modern jazz fusion.
Drawing inspiration from pioneers like Herbie Hancock, Dave Weckl, and Casiopea, Sketti incorporates reimagined interpretations of fusion staples such as “Watermelon Man” and “Hang Up Your Hang Ups” into their live performances. At the same time, they channel the energy of contemporary acts like Snarky Puppy and Parlor Greens.
With a setlist that balances exploratory improvisation and tightly arranged originals, Sketti aims to carve out a distinctive voice in the evolving landscape of jazz fusion.
